Welcome to R&DIndia site

One of the outcomes of the knowledge economy is the increasing emphasis on knowledge assets. There has been an increasing awareness, world over, about the importance of R&D in industries leading to new products and services. With WTO coming to the fore and acceptance of the norms relating to TRIPS, intellectual property has also taken a pride of place. There is an increasing urgency for the industries to be competitive, aware of the world trends in new products and services.

It is this background the present site intends to bring together news and views on Indian with the industrial R&D focus. The site in aims to document, digest R&D related information, record expert views through interviews, and analyze trends – both national and international. The site presents a virtual library on the topics of relevance in the context and also recent literature published in the conventional media.

The site is a project sponsored by the DSIR, New Delhi, under its Technology Information Facilitation Programme.

QUOTATION

"Innovation has nothing to do with how many R&D dollars you have. When Apple came up with the Mac, IBM was spending at least 100 times more on R&D. It's not about money. It's about the people you have, how you're led, and how much you get it."
